Last week I was visiting my sister when she said, "Your ring is too small for you!" I was wearing a midi (or knuckle) ring and was surprised she had never seen this trend before!

Ring stacking has definitely reached new heights this year, with rings being placed on the knuckle!

My Style Challenge: Pajama Pants

I was definitely one of those girls who did not even buy into "pajama" pants. You know, loose, silk pants, usually with some print, that just look like you should be in bed wearing them. And yet when I saw these fabulous star print pants in Lucky Magazine, I instantly coveted them. And then, months later when I saw them on eBay for almost half what they retailed, I knew they would finally be mine!

While you may think silk pants are naturally dressy, you do have to take steps to make sure pajama pants work for the office. By simply pairing them with some heels and a smart blazer, I think I accomplished that!

What's that, you need to see how they look whilst sitting down? Ok!

My Style Challenge: Packing for a NYC Conference

I recently went up to NYC to speak at the Social Media Strategies Summit! I would only be up for two days, so I didn't want to pack a lot, but I knew I would go out and see a friend or two, so I wanted to bring some versatile clothing!

Ok, a neon green skirt isn't versatile. Usually I would recommend neutral colored items that can be reworn without people noticing - one winter I wore the same black pants for probably two weeks at work, true story. However I didn't plan to be seeing the same people, so I figured it would be ok. Thus, this is more of a how to style one piece for day vs. night.

Here is my day look - what I wore to actually speak! Pairing my Diane von Furstenberg neon skirt with a black top from Express, leopard blazer courtesy of H&M, and some kitten heels by Bandelino. My jewelry includes a pearl ring from my mom and turquoise drops from my sister.

Hooray, time to go out and see my beloved Jordana! For this look I paired the DvF skirt with: a white LOFT tank, J. Crew cardigan, shoes courtesy of Payless, my necklace is from Nicole Miller and my bracelet is from Turkey. I still love my ombre red hair, this may be the hair of 2013!!!

My Style Challenge: On A Boat

My boyfriend and friends and I spent a fun weekend taking a day cruise on the Potomac on an old timey boat call the Cherry Blossom a little bit ago! The event was hosted by a friend's workplace and it was supposed to be about networking... but how to mix business casual with a typical DC hot summer day?

Here I am, all fancy and ready to mingle! I really think the accessories make this look! Surprisingly, I think it's the belt, not the statement necklace that's important here - it really completed the outfit!

In general, my formula for hot & humid business casual is a cotton top, not too tight skirt and a layering piece I can take off when I'm outdoors. Jazz it up with bright colors and pretty accessories and you're set!

You may know that my boyfriend is Turkish, but are you aware of what's going on in Turkey right now? In a nutshell, concern had been growing over the ruling party's ability to keep church and state divided. Over the past ten years, the people's rights have been taken away bit by bit. And then, a few days ago, a peaceful protest over the demolition of Gezi Park took a violent turn courtesy of the police. This was the spark that lit the fire over the entire country as thousands of people from all walks of life took to the streets.

In the following days hundreds of people are injured, a handful are dead, and people are still fighting for democracy. You can learn more on Forbes.com. Here are some of the pictures that have stood out to me:

Yesterday I was proud to go with my boyfriend and friends to a protest in front of the White House. In America, we are so lucky to be able to attend events like this without fear of being gassed or attacked. I hope that in some way I can help build awareness of what's going on in Turkey.
