I'm always scouring Etsy and eBay for great vintage stores to drool over, but I have featured one since July of last year! Well, I have a new one that you simply must check out immediately: Wildfell Hall Vintage.
I met Violetville at an IFB event awhile back, and have adored her selection of vintage pieces ever since! And while I've posted some of her items individually, I've never highlighted her store, something I've decided to remedy today! Especially since I got nothing done as I looked through page after page of fabulous items I covet but cannot let myself buy! Like that blue tiger print skirt - OMG I WANT SO BAD!
Stocking pieces from as early at the 1910's (and at least one item from the 1800s!!) and going up to the 80s, you can find something for any mood you're in! Even if that mood is "I'm a vintage pin up girl in ruffled bloomers" ;)I highly recommend bookmarking this store for all your vintage needs!!
Can something from the 90's be called vintage? Either way, go on holiday with this great valise, which is small enough to be an oversized purse if you'd like. Buy at Market Publique for $36.
I've been craving a safari helmet for a bit, and now I know that they're called pith helmets! I searched for one and already came up with a great option - just $30 on Etsy!
I went to the grand opening party for Pretty People Vintage in Alexandria, VA over the holiday weekend!
Owned by Annie Lee, formerly of Annie Creamcheese Vintage, handpicks fabulous vintage pieces and consigned contemporary items that create a one-shop stop for the fashionable DC woman!
There was a huge collection of vintage hats that I went all drooly over, but alas my giant noggin was too big for most of them! This floppy hat was a bit tempting, did I make a mistake by passing it by?
The eclectic vibe of the boutique was pretty awesome! I'm seriously going to steal decorating tips! I particularly loved how the earrings were all over the wall! I need to frame a piece of fabric with mesh over top to hang all my jewelry on. Why hide my pretty sparkles in a box when I can put them on display?
Tray of jewelry, I want to eat you, nom nom nom nom nom!
I really loved this sparkly peacock wrap ring. I really debated on it, but ended up going with other items - I'm not 100% sure I won't go back tomorrow and buy it!
I did buy this vintage dress from the 60's! Definitely happy with it - doesn't it have amazing details around the neck?
I also got this beautiful lace skirt! It's very short, but the longer lace overlay is super pretty and gives a misguided air of modesty ;) I really wanted the beige lace top I paired with it (and the belt too) but I knew that if I got them I would only wear the skirt with them again and I needed to force myself to think outside the box... I may go back and get them too!
If you're in the DC area, I highly recommend checking out Pretty People Vintage, which is now open for business. It's located at 108 N. Patrick St. Alexandria, VA,right off King St.
Dear Golden is the latest Etsy store to catch my eye! Pages and pages of pretty vintage pieces - oh my!
With items from the 1920's up to the 1970's, there are some amazing gems hidden away here! And more than half the current pieces are under $50 - what a steal! I'm seriously about to buy this pastel floral hat... it's in my cart, do I check out...??
Anyhoo, definitely check out this store, new items are added daily and it's obvious the buyer has taste and an eye for quality!
This is a cute vintage blanket coat.. hey wait a second! This is just a blanket thrown over the shoulders and belted! I've never really thought about doing this, now I'm eyeing the throw on my couch... But for $48 at Urban Outfitters, this is still a good buy!
I was traveling to Austin for SXSWi all day today and didn't have any blog posts scheduled - I fail at entertaining you!! I beg for you forgiveness with this offering: a link to a fabulous vintage YSL blazer for just $179!! Buy at Urban Outfitters, who apparently has a vintage section now.
A fellow fashionista mentioned Etsy store Persophone Vintage a little bit ago, but I forgot to check it out. Luckily, I just came across it today and and happy to share with all of you!
The store has oodles and oddles of options, fashion from the 50's all the way to the 80s, no name treasures to vintage designer pieces! I particularly love how affordable almost everything is, most of the pieces are under $100 and many are under $50!
Also, definitely note that she has other options (slightly pricier) listed on PersephoneVintge.com, plus links to her Etsy AND an eBay store! Hmmm, wouldn't everything in one place just be easier?
I haven't posted anything vintage lately, but Jeninne of The Coveted recently brought my attention to a great store on Etsy, The Church of Vintage. Well this box purse immediately caught my eye, what a showstopping piece! And at just $42, can you really afford to NOT buy it??
I NEED this hat to go on living! I am loving the sunglasses built into the visor, what a great idea! Buy at Etsy for $55.
